Let's Go Stitchin Round 2- Desiree's 100 Day Project Challenge for Machine Embroiderers

Back by popular demand!!! We are doing it again!! The women loved it!! What are you doing for the next 100 days?  Have you heard about the 100 day project challenge?? Do something creative for 100 days! Are you up for a challenge? I thought it would be so much more fun to do something together than to do something alone so I am designing this quilt project for our own, exclusive 100 day challenge. I am excited to see what we can do together!

Let me tell you my idea!!

I thought it would be fun to join in on the 100 day project and use it to create an awesome quilt. I have heard it's best if you keep it simple so that it is doable. I have created 11 different blocks that are similar to one another and go together to create a completed block. I was inspired by my girlfriends photo from a trip she took to Portugal, it was a tiled wall of different fish. I wanted it to have a modern graphic feel to it. Because it is simple you can really personalize it to what you want. You will make one square each day and at the end of the 100 days we will assemble them to create our quilt. The idea is to use your stash (you know we all have one) to make each design. You can choose to do a very planned color theme or you can just wing it. You can even do a black and white quilt which would look amazing. By working on this together it gives us all a better chance of finishing. We can cheer each other on and hold each other accountable. I want this to be a fun thing and although it requires a commitment I think it will give us all a sense of accomplishment.

Who is this for? Everyone!!  We want everyone to feel like they can join in on the fun. Whether you are a machine embroiderer or a appliquer, a hand embroiderer or if you like fusible applique you are all welcome. We will have a different club for the machine embroider verses the hand embroiderer or appliquer. (This sign up page is for Machine Embroidery people, those who own a embroidery machine that requires digitized files.) This is because the machine embroidery people will get embroidery files and as the appliquers and hand embroidery people will get templates and different instructions.

Once you sign up you will be automatically sent the appropriate files to your email address every 10 days with instructions. You will make a block each day for the next 10 days then you will receive another design. Your files, depending on what you sign up for will include the files or templates, instructions, and photos. You will get a calendar block schedule so you can check off your block progress. You will also be invited into our Private FB group where you can share your blocks and progress. Being able to see each others blocks is always so motivating and inspiring.

Here is what you will be doing during the 100 day challenge project.

You will be given links to special Zoom meetings where we will meet and go over things like;

  • Choosing colors

 I will be doing it right along with you, I will need the accountability too! If you decide to not join in I hope you will support and cheer on all of us who are doing the challenge.

I have designed 10 fun simple quilt blocks, plus an in the hoop (ITH) Half square triangle as a bonus, they will come is several sizes so you can determine what size quilt you want to make. (5" blocks = 50"x50" quilt- 6" blocks = 60"x60"quilt, 8"x8" block + 80"x 80"etc.) SVG files and PDF instructions. You will make each block 10 times using different combinations of fabrics so that they each will be the same but still different. We want to encourage you to use your stash but still have a plan for your quilt. You are welcome to join in on our monthly Zoom meeting where we can encourage one another and discuss our blocks. This will help keep us going, inspired and motivated. The key is making it simple and doable. Since I will be doing it right along with you there is no finished quilt to show you. I will be finishing mine at the same time that you will be finishing yours. I will need the accountability too. Sound interesting? Well, for about $7 a week you can join in and create your own special version of my latest quilt design. Yes, this 100 day challenge project is just $60 for the machine embroiderers and only $40 for the hand embroiders and appliquers. Where else can you have this much fun for less than $1.00 a day and 100 days of sewing.

I hope you will join me for the next 100 days for a fun filled project. It all starts on June 1,2021. We want everyone to post their blocks on social media, if you are on social media, with the hashtag #100dayproject and #desirees100dayproject.

Join today and get started collecting your fabrics. Not sure please join us on May 30 at 2PM for more info in a Zoom meeting where we will answer questions and get ready to start on June 1, 2021! Why go it alone when we can do this together.

I will not be showing you a picture of a finished quilt just each block at a time. Its a bit of a mystery too. I will be looking for some special quilts to feature on my website. This pattern is not available to the public yet so we are making it together. One of the blocks is featured.
