The Pumpkin Patch Challenge- Desiree's Halloween Pumpkin Patch Challenge for Machine Embroidery-
I am excited to offer you another fun, mystery quilt for Halloween 2021, lets see what we can do together!
Let me tell you about it!!
I so loved what we all did during the 100 day challenge! It was amazing and the quilts turned out amazing. I thought it would be fun to do it again and create another awesome quilt or table runner, bench pillow, wall hanging or pillow. Its completely up to you, its is customizable to fit your needs and time schedule.
I have heard it's best if you keep it simple so that it is doable. This time we have created 7 different blocks that are stitched to be a stand alone block or added to others to create a completed block. These are all done in the hoop and then assembled on a sewing machine. Like the 100 day challenge it is completely up to you how you will assemble it but I do have a master plan for those of you who prefer to follow a plan. You will make eight blocks the first week and then you will get another block with instructions on how to make that block. We will do this for approximately 6 weeks so mid Sept, then we will assemble the blocks. You can choose to do a very planned color theme or you can just wing it.
Since its a Halloween Quilt I would suggest gathering you fun Halloween Fabrics, oranges, purples, yellows, dark blues etc for this one. You can use your stash or purchase new fabrics, we will try to offer some fun fabrics along the way in our fabric bundle sales.
So whats the big deal? Another pumpkin quilt? Well thats where we wanted to have some fun!! You guys know how we love to have fun. So each week you will be given different sets of eyes and mouths. Its up to you to choose the eyes and mouths when creating your pumpkins. This way every quilt will be different!! LOL it makes me so happy!! To see all the unique colors, faces, etc and then to help you guys decide on the layout. It is a way to stretch yourselves by doing a bit of designing!! I love to give my students and clients freedom and the ability to choose for themselves and make some designs decisions. It gives you confidence when it all comes together. Plus, by working on this together it gives us all a better chance of finishing. We can cheer each other on and hold each other accountable. I want this to be a fun thing and although it requires a commitment I think it will give us all a sense of accomplishment. I hope to have a slide show presentation of all the things we create before Halloween this year!
Who is this for? What are the hoop requirements? This one is for Machine embroiders who own a 5"x7" hoop and at least a 7"x11" hoop or larger.
What if I don't have a larger hoop? Then you will have to create the pumpkin in the 5"x7" hoop, which by the way is the largest pumpkin. You will not be able to stitch out the smaller pumpkins. We want everyone to feel like they can join in on the fun.
I still have lots of questions since I don't really get to see what we are making, how can I ask questions? We will be having a Zoom Meeting on July 28th for everyone who has signed up or is considering signing up. You are always free to email me your questions also.
How will we get our files? Once you sign up you will be automatically sent the appropriate files to your email address every week with instructions. These are delivered via Newsletter to your inbox and the files are always at the bottom of the newsletter. You will make the required amount of blocks for that week and then in a week you will get another block. These will deliver every Sunday. Your files include the embroidery files, instructions, photos and sometimes videos.
Is there a place where we all can show off our blocks? You will also be invited into our FB group where you can share your blocks and progress. Anyone can join the group which is public now but might change to private. If you join and do not sign up please cheer on the participants. Being able to see each others blocks is always so motivating and inspiring. I loved seeing all the variations and colors everyone used during the 100 day challenge.
What if I sign up late? Will I get the past files? Yes!! You will get all the files, videos etc so that you are caught up to us. You are free to make it at your own pace but doing it together is such fun!

I hope you will join me for the next 6 weeks for a fun filled project. It all starts on August 1,2021. We want everyone to post their blocks on social media, if you are on social media, with the hashtag #desireeshalloweenpumpkinpatchchallenge and #thehalloweenpumpkinpatchchallenge.

I will not be showing you a picture of a finished quilt just each block at a time but we will be giving you a sample mock up of our designs. At the end we will have the big reveal. So for now its a bit of a mystery. I will be looking for some special quilts to feature on my website. This pattern is not available to the public so we are making it together in this sew along.
Please ignore the dates on the signup page, they are there because me website doesn't understand online classes. It thinks we are a shop having one, in-person class. I have to trick it. Pick any date but you will start with us on August 1
You need a working knowledge of your sewing machine and your embroidery machine. We will provide SVG files if you like. I suggest a new needle and a good selection of fabrics and thread for this project
Includes embroidery files in multiple sizes and formats, PDF instructions for blocks, and access to our private FB group and Zoom meetings.
