Desiree's Christmas Snowman Sew-a -Long for Machine Embroidery-
I am excited to offer you another fun, creative Desiree Christmas Snowman Sew-a-long quilt for Christmas 2021, lets see what we can do together!
Let me tell you about it!!
I so am loving our creative sew-a-longs!! I love that it gives you a chance to show off your creative side and talents!! Even our first time quilters have been able to jump in and create amazing quilts and table runners. After our Halloween challenge I thought it would be fun to do it again and create another awesome quilt or table runner, bench pillow, wall hanging or pillow. Its completely up to you, its is customizable to fit your needs and time schedule.
I hate UFO's just like you so lets keep it simple so that it is doable. This time we have created different snowman blocks that are stitched to be stand alone blocks. These are all done in the hoop and then assembled on a sewing machine. Like the other challenges, it is completely up to you how you will assemble it but I do have a master plan for those of you who prefer to follow a plan.
If you want to make our quilt You will make 5 Snowmen blocks the first week and follow the instructions as they are released each week. We will do this for approximately 6 weeks so by mid Nov we will assemble the blocks. You can choose to do a very planned color theme or you can just wing it and use your scraps.
Since its a Christmas Quilt I would suggest gathering you fun Christmas Fabrics, things you love. You can use your stash or purchase new fabrics, we will try to offer some fun fabrics along the way in our fabric bundle sales.
So whats the big deal? Another Christmas quilt? Well thats where we wanted to have some fun!! You guys know how we love to have fun. So each week you will be given different Snowmen heads and you will have 4 different faces to choose from this time. Its up to you to choose the eyes and mouths when creating your snowmen. This way every quilt will be different!! LOL it makes me so happy!! To see all the unique colors, faces, etc and then to help you guys decide on the layout. It is a way to stretch yourselves by doing a bit of designing!! I love to give my students and clients freedom and the ability to choose for themselves and make some designs decisions. It gives you confidence when it all comes together. Plus, by working on this together it gives us all a better chance of finishing. We can cheer each other on and hold each other accountable. I want this to be a fun thing and although it requires a commitment I think it will give us all a sense of accomplishment.
Are you too busy for a full quilt project? Make a Table Runner or placemats, bench pillows the gift options are endless and each one can be unique. You will have all the files so if later on you want to make a full quilt you will be able to do that!
Who is this for? What are the hoop requirements? This one is for Machine embroiders who own a 6"x10" (160mm x260mm) or an 8"x12" (200mm x 300mm)hoop.
What if I don't have that size hoop? I am sorry but this challenge is not for you
I still have lots of questions since I don't really get to see what we are making, how can I ask questions? You are always free to email me your questions also.
How will we get our files? Once you sign up you will be automatically sent the appropriate files to your email address every week with instructions. These are delivered via Newsletter to your inbox and the files are always at the bottom of the newsletter. You will make the required amount of blocks for that week and then in a week you will get another block. These will deliver every Sunday. Your files include the embroidery files, instructions, photos and sometimes videos.
Is there a place where we all can show off our blocks? You will also be invited into our FB group where you can share your blocks and progress. Anyone can join the group which is public now but might change to private. If you join and do not sign up please cheer on the participants. Being able to see each others blocks is always so motivating and inspiring. I loved seeing all the variations and colors everyone used during the 100 day challenge.
What if I sign up late? Will I get the past files? Yes!! You will get all the files, videos etc so that you are caught up to us. You are free to make it at your own pace but doing it together is such fun!

I will not be showing you a picture of a finished quilt just each block at a time but we will be giving you a sample mock up of our designs. At the end we will have the big reveal. So for now its a bit of a mystery. I will be looking for some special quilts to feature on my website. This pattern is not available to the public so we are making it together in this sew-a-long.
You need a working knowledge of your sewing machine and your embroidery machine. We will provide SVG files if you like. I suggest a new needle and a good selection of fabrics and thread for this project
Includes embroidery files in multiple sizes and formats, PDF instructions for blocks, videos and access to our private FB group. Please follow the link at the bottom of the description to sign up for this online class.
